Would love to spend some more time relaxing with my pieces and getting to know them but deadlines loom. A few more days and they will be off, the work began in Papakowhai, Porirua where they were made to Raumati where we are setting up our new home to Blenheim....to be joined with the other feltsisters works.
I have made an installation based on our recent 'Earthwaulk' - taking Imogen my teenage daughter to Japan last October in the knowledge that she loves animated examples of Japanese food - family is close to cooking, is close to dyeing methods, which for me is close to felting which is close to home. Have made a felt wrap too in favourite colours inspired by autumnal shades we saw in Japan, made from NZ wool on a felby base bought from Tracy White and silk from the slow cloth artisan studios in Kiryu, Gunma, haven't decided which to send yet or both...? will sleep on it a little more ...
